Containers Overboard!

As the UK takes a complete battering with high winds and flood warnings, the knock on effect is causing havoc with our UK port operations. Gale force winds are making it impossible for the cranes to operate, causing delays and heavy back log. At the weekend a container ship sailing from  Le Havre to Port Said lost 14 containers overboard in strong winds and large swells.

Sandy update – Port of New York and New Jersey

The Port of New York and New Jersey is still without electrical power in the aftermath of Super storm Sandy with the Port Authority underlining that there is “no time frame for repair.” Facilities have been closed since midnight on 28 October. A Port Authority source said channels were closed, roads covered with debris, traffic signals out of service, rail track compromised and fencing
