General rate increase & full vessels! As China welcomes Year of the Horse!

As our celebrations for the New Year come to a close, China is preparing for the most important festival of their year, the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival as it is otherwise known, and it is fast approaching!

Chinese New Year falls on 31 January 2014, most of China and Vietnam will shut down from 29 January, and will resume work around 7 February 2014.

This has a huge knock on effect when importing from Asia-Europe during January. The shipping lines introduce GRI (general rate increase) which they have already done for this month, and space becomes a big issue as all suppliers struggle to ship out their cargo before the holidays.

As ever we will endeavour to source the best possible rates and service in the market. We take our china imports and exports very seriously.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish our Far East colleagues, agents and customers a very prosperous 2014 as you welcome Year of the Horse!

Year of the Horse
