Year of the DRAGON!

With many imports coming in from China and the Far East this is a busy time in the world of freight forwarding as we strive to get sea, air and courier shipments into the UK, before Chinese New Year festivities begin and China closes down as it welcomes in the New year.

Chinese New Year festival is the most important traditional festival and public holiday in the China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore calendar. It starts with the New Moon on the first day of the New Year, which falls this year on 23 January. It is celebrated by the lighting of fireworks, dragon dancing, lion dancing and other traditional performances, which are arranged in parks and streets in cities and towns. The festivities draw to a close on the full moon 15 days later. The 15th day of the New Year is called the Lantern Festival, which is celebrated at night with lantern displays and parades.

2012 is the Year of the Dragon, we wish all our Far East agents and customers a very happy and prosperous 2012.
